More Vampire Goodies

In Cosmic Comics V.1 I would occasionally make mention of specific books that I thought might grab the attention of some of you guys and gals out there. In particular this one book I made mention of was from a series of books written by Laurell K. Hamilton concerning that loveable creature made famous by Bela Lugosi...The Vampire. Hamilton's series of books; Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter will see their script turned into graphic imaging coming at you this year by way of Dabel Brothers Productions (DB Pro) The title, Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter / Guilty Pleasures will be released in June. Guilty Pleasures was the first novel in the now 14 novel series by the New York Times best selling author. If you've never read any of the books in the series you're missing out on some great stuff. It shouldn't be too long now before any one of her books is adapted for the Silver Screen. Anita Blake is a cross between Buffy & Blade and rated highly in the R section of the Fantasy and Horror genre. If you want a nice cool drink from the waters of suspense and fantasy with a twist of lime spiked erotica and romance then Anita Blake can carry you through the night. A female shade of Forever Knight. You can't afford to miss the up coming comic series. All you 30 days of Night fans out there get ready for some more....can ya handle it ?!?

What the #$&@

Good morning people it's 7:20am Friday morning and I'm just glancing quickly through the morning papers. You know....It finally just hit me....I'm in the wrong friggen business. Instead of HELPING people to fight against the evil that purges through their country I should be kissing up to the leadership of countries like Dubai. Heck if Kofi can do it I shouldn't have any problem what so ever. All I have to do is promise not to aide and abet in the proposed democratic establishment of such a government in Iraq and hell, the Dubai billionaires just might give me an environmental prize of $500,000 for not doing anything counter productive to their subtle efforts at world domination. Hmmmmm...sell out my country or build a profitable nest egg worth millions...hmmmmm....I'll make up my mind when I finally see what Miller has done with Holy Terror Batman...Sheeeeesh.......Memo to self:..."When accepting hush, I mean cash money from the Sheik remember to not crack any camel jokes."

The Pristine Myth-Political Reality

When colonists first set foot on the shores of this country, the native population was in the tens of millions. Fully developed societies existed and had existed for almost a thousand years. The Spanish, the English and the French although they felt themselves to be of a more sophisticated culture, soon found out that not only did the native americans have a more organized central system of government but also had a more structured society as a whole, more so than the europeans. And just as we today have our own territories (cities, towns, villages) so did the native populations back then and so too did they have their boundries and borders and uprisings to protect their properties from neighboring tribes. If it hadn't been for disease and factionalism there would still be tens of millions of native americans roaming this country. Steel and guns and horses and european technology didn't have anything to do with their downfall. By far the native americans were more highly advanced than the conquerors, both socially and religiously. If Christian civilization was so wonderful, why were its inhabitants all trying to settle somewhere else?
The Brookings report of 1961 stated that anthropological files contain many examples of societies sure of their place in the universe which have disintegrated when they had to associate with previously unfamiliar societies espousing different ideas and different life ways; others that survived such an experience usually did so by paying the price of changes in values and attitudes and behavior. The native american population (including the natives of central and south america) paid the price of changes in values and attitudes and behavior due to mass deaths destroying at least 95% of the populations acquired through the smallpox virus. They in no way were impressed by the european and his religion or his politics or his social habits. Just as the earthquake in Lisbon, Portugal in 1755, that killed tens of thousands in one of the richest cities in Europe sparked spiritual malaise across Europe, so too did the epidemics shatter the sense of the native americans that had lived, so they thought, in balance with an intelligible world.
We move along a few hundred years. America is now the melting pot of the world. Different races, religions and cultures living in organized towns and villages. China Town, Little Italy, Little Korea, Little India, Arab Town, Black Harlem, Spanish Harlem, The assorted reservations of native american tribes, The Jewish areas of Williamsburg, Eastern parkway, the Russian neighborhoods, Polish neighborhoods, etc.etc.etc. We have divided ourselves into tribes and families once again and protect our boundries from inturders who might seek to disrupt the local way of life. We have conquered, more or less disease and might only fall sick to a flu symptom or other minor virus, but as a whole, we have a better chance to survive now then we would have five to six hundred years ago. We have been so indoctrinated with outer world possibilities that if a distant traveler from a far away galaxy ever landed in the middle of central park he would be greeted not so much unlike the French and English and Spanish were greeted initially. Armed warriors and politicians would gather at the ship and greet the explorers, not with open arms, but rather with suspicion and a high alert status. Religious leaders would have their say in the matter, charged with keeping not only the fears of people at bay, but also trying to convey a message of greater possibilities through religious doctrine and belief. People would now have to accept that which they deemed contrary to their faith and deal with even greater truths on biblical proportions.
Present day, real time, once again the shores of this land are about to be besieged by another form of colonization. One that, if allowed to purchase such a large area of coastal property would have the final say as to what comes in and what goes out and to where and when. If the UAE is allowed to purchase and control all of the major waterfronts along the eastern seaboard, then it is with the least amount of doubt that this country will no longer be a major power in the world. All the power will be in Washington and all the millions of dollars that each and every politician has stashed away in overseas accounts and local will keep them quite comfortable through any situation that may arise. Control the ports, and you control the country. Now how about that. Wouldn't that be a sight to see. The president of the USA negotiating with a foreign power to allow cargo in and out of OUR harbors. But then I keep forgetting how friendly the Bush family is with the Saudi royals and the Bin Laden family in particular. Or don't any of you remember that?!?
It seems as though our Chief is going to negotiate our waterfronts away for more than what the native americans were conned out of. What comes around goes around. But will the money go in to pay off any of the national debt????? Not hardly, more like paying off everyone in congress who votes yes to the deal. Amazing, simply amazing. If Islamic civilization is so wonderful, why are its inhabitants all trying to settle somewhere else?
Saudi taxi drivers will ask you, if you speak a little arabic, "Why don't you become Muslim?" They can not understand how anyone capable of reading the language can not embrace the truth of the Qur'an. I would ask the same, "Dude if you can speak a little english and read it how come you can not embrace the truth of Constitution?!? You know like: We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal. And that we are endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights, like life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Too bad though that that very same constitution didn't include African Americans or Native Americans back then, something that that very same taxi cab driver would toss right back at you. But if you were knowledgeable you could put him right back in his place and hit him with the racism that exists in Islam!

- We are not empty phrase makers. What we will say we will do. If they look upon you lightly or disdainfully, answer them that God honours His Prophet and the citizens of this country. You are the sons of the heroes of old, you are the grandchildren of those who fought beside the Prophet. Be honey to those that seek your friendship, but deadly poison to those who are your enemies. - King Faisal ibn Aziz, 1973

The U.S. is friendly to Israel. Israel is an enemy to the Arab world of religious zealots who have nothing better to do than wage war. It's a sad example of the Hatfields and the McCoys feuding over religious rhetoric and one or the other wanting to prove their worth and position in this present day and time. Osama has absolutely no clue as to why he's doing what he's doing except the rhetoric that has plagued the middle east for too long. As educated as he is, he's no more than an ignorant sod inflicted with syphilis of the brain and a bad case of dengue. His actions and ideals do not reflect those of every Muslim. However, it is only the educated ones backed by and protected by the Saudi royals that know the falicy of this whole matter. The poor slobs that walk around with C4 strapped to their bodies have no idea what the Qur'an is really saying and rely only upon the words of the educated morons living a Lion of the Desert fantasy. And it's the innocents who will pay for their day dreams.

If we are sold out by this administration, as we were by Clinton with the Chinese, we might as well all put our heads between our legs and kiss our sweet asses goodbye. But is seems that we don't have a say. We are simply the people that comprise the tribes that are governed by the many Chiefs that reside over our singular nation. And the disease of greed is going to kill us all off.
History always repeats itself because man neve learns from his mistakes.

Hey you comic book guys why not address the issues like the real heroes of the comic books did when we had the Nazi party and the Japanese in WW2 to contend with. Afraid your editors won't like it? Humph! Just wait until Al Qaida owns Marvel and DC.
Control the Ports, control the media and you've got your enemy by the nads!

ADe - This may not seem like the place for it but you've got to keep in focus as well.

East side of Hell

Just a note: Holy Terror was a Batman Otherworlds title from 1991 as well: ADe.

Greetings and Felicitations
I'm Baaaaaaaack. Yes, Uncle Sam had once again plucked me from a quiet and peaceful new year and tossed me in East Hell for thirty five days to train some new guys on the finer aspects of 'asking the bad guys nicely" what their evil intentions are towards the freedom loving people of the world. You know being on retainer can sometimes be frustrating. What ever happened to the good old days of Kick ass and take names later. All of this political BS sucks. Hard core Tangos could give a rats ass what you do to them as long as it's within the accepted bounds. It's only when you step out of those bounds and put the Clintonistic bend over and give me one approach on the shelf that you get results.
Well lets see what happens.
Anyway the new Batman graphic novel should be interesting: Batman Holy Terror..is that the correct title?
You know even comic book artists and writers can some times fall into the Liberalistic sense of fair play and not truly get such a serious real life circumstance to correctly come foward and say: Hey Osama ! Bite me Bitch!
Too many censors, too many fair play politicians, too many bleeding hearts that haven't yet been affected by the fickle finger of fate (Thats the middle finger in case your wondering)
Let us return to those thrilling days of yesteryear when Captain America and Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman kicked major comicdom arse making Hitler and Tojo look like the Buffoons that they truly were. When the East side kids ran circles around Nazi subversives and Tojos goons defeating their plans in the name of freedom.
No Political correctness on Batman: Holy Terror !!!!!!!!!!! Serve the B@$t@%ds !!!!!!!

Anyway hope to see you guys at the Comic Con I'll be there with my younger son (19) with his portfolio and his original comic strip characters from the up coming "Shorties" strips. Hop it's going to be a nice couple of days.

ADe.

Nyc Comiccon!

To anyone that cares:

Active and frequent customers Pawel and James will be reporting on the NYC Comic Convention. We will review the entire event and try to cover as much scheduled stuff as possible with our inside access. And *gasp* perhaps have some first ever video interviews with certain industry professionals! If not...we will at least have the traditional ones. At least they said so when we contacted them...anyway... So if you are going and you see two young studs running around with a well hidden digital camera with a bunch of attention starved girls at their backs, don't be afraid to say hello. Although we might be busy with those attention starved girls...

All of this can be found at our website:

www.blazedent.com

Head on over for some interviews/articles/battle royales.

We also have the best/most in depth reviews of graphic novels and trade paperbacks on the web. No joke.

Pawel
