Punisher War Zone The Movie Trailer review

The trailer just came out for the Punisher War Zone.
This movie better get an R rating! The trailer is really intense, dark, and gritty. This is how Frank Castle should be portrayed. And this new actor fits the role very well.

Much like how Hulk 1 bombed. Punisher was Thomas Jane was OK. It wasn't great. I do hope they restart the franchise as they did with the new current Hulk movie.

Frank Castle is this upcoming movie is pissed, cold, heartless, and relentness in punishing people! A must see for all punisher fans!

Skaar Son of Hulk #1

I was very skeptical when I first picked up this comic. I was thinking its another marvel gimmick and soon every damn superhero is going to have a kid.

I was surprised at the content of the book. It wasn't that bad. It follows the development of young Skaar as grows up as a green skinned Conan in the waste lands.

Yeah Skaar needs a few more adjectives and nouns in his primal grunting/dialogue, but a good book overall. He also has some type of magical powers from his alien mom. Skaar also looks like the old PITT from Image comics.

You guys know what's going to be next down the road. Skaar vs HULK! And Oprah's gonna sit in on that one. then Skaar vs Wolverine, vs Venom, vs X-Men, vs Iron Man... you get the joke.

My rating = B-

Kick - Ass The Comic

I am currently reading this comic called Kick Ass. Its abt this normal high school kid who feels left out and alienated from his peers. He reads tons of comics so in issue #1, he decides to be cool and go out and fight crime. Mind you, this kid has no powers, no fighting skills, just wants to be a superhero. He first night out he gets into a fight with neighborhood drug dealers. He puts up a small fight, but ends up losing. They kick his ass. They stabbed him, pummeled him, and he gets hit head on by a car.

In issue #2 he survives. He goes through months of rehibilitaion, and he cries at the tens of thousands of $$$$$ he put his poor father thru in medical bills. His dad never finds out what he was doing that night, But they make it thru together.

And you know what happens next, he wants to do it again. This time he trains a little more. In a street fight, he helps this other gang member who is being beat down by another gang. Starts out ok then he starts getting his ass kicked again. With pure adreline he fights back hard, refusing to be a victim again. He wins the fight with a massive brusies.

In issue #3 he is place on youtube and becomes an instant sensation. People call him a hero and it blows his ego up. He starts a myspace page and starts helping other victims of crime. One in particular is a drug dealer who's been beating on his girl friend. He goes to this shady ass neigborhood to confront this drug dealer. Uses a can of pepper spray his dad gave him and he start brawling with these gang bangers. he fights ok for awhile, then the fights turns against him. Just as he was abt to be gutted by a glass bottle. The drug dealer is impaled by a sword. It's an 8 year old with sharp ass swords!!! This little kid spilts open one guy's gut open and decaptiates him! Looks like he has a side kick now.

This book is a sleeper hit. Not too many people know abt it. But it shows the realism of what would happen if a normal person who go out there, don a mask and fight crime. A must read.

LEOG Black Dossier

Gotta say that compared to Volumes 1 and 2 of LEOG, this is fairly disappointing. I like the take on James Bond, making him a thug, but a bunch of the other stuff, like Fanny et al, I could have done without. Hopefully any future incarnations of LEOG will be a bit better than this mildly entertaining one.

Marvel superheroes as Bears?!

Hi guys

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post but I was looking for a forum to go to and I came across this site:

www.bearzinc.com

It has all the best Marvel characters but as Bears made from vinyl like a collectable range – look!

Iwao Takamoto creator of Scooby Doo passes

Well I'm a little late with this but it does deserve mention.

Iwao Takamoto who created such memorable and noteworthy characters as Scooby-Doo, Astro from the Jetsons and Muttley the mixed breed pooch whose name became a household standard among many dog owners who happened to have mixed breed canines, has passed at the age of 81 from natural causes.
Takamoto worked on such classics for Disney as Cinderella, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, and directed 1973's Charlotte's Web. His stint at Hanna-Barbera included; The Jetsons, Josie and the Pussycats, The Great Grape Ape Show, The Harlem Globetrotters and Secret Squirrel.
Born in Los Angeles, his parents had emigrated from Japan in search of a better life and wound up having their dreams shattered when Iwao had graduated from High School at the beginning of WW2. He and his family were sent to the Manzanar internment camp in the California desert where Iwao learned the art of illustration from fellow internees.
Even though he had no formal art training, he was hired by Disney studios as an apprentice. He will be remembered fondly by all lovers of early 60's animation and classic cartoon history.
